Safespace. Hope

video installation

In russian language there are phrases such as: "Hope dies last",
"God willing" or "As God wills". These expressions embody the expectation
of a resolution of our aspirations and desires by a higher power. By hoping, we project our desires onto situations or people, which saves us from anxiety and fear, serves as a tool for maintaining psychological stability, motivation and positive perception of the world. Hope is an important part of life,
but can it be preserved in an increasingly fragile, complex and non-linear world and what happens when we lose it? What are we left with to turn to?

The artist creates a space where the viewer, alone in the darkness, can immerse oneself in meditation, remember their hopes or make a wish
to a higher power, while watching the candle burn.
